LET THEM STAND UP NOW. B.A.T HAS STARTED OOH!!!

Newspaper or photo album

By Political Animal.

Until someone stands up, evil may have its way.The merciless and heartless may force or continue to prey on the helpless.

But when even “one person” stands up on behalf of the helpless, refusing to retreat, evil’s defeat begins.
-Owen Strachan

The reason why we need more presidential hopefuls now to stand up and step up to the rostrums.

Stepping up peels off the veneer that hides committees of speech writers.

We have seen B.A.T as a clever politician step up “cleverly” during the colloquium, when will others step up?

Enough of press releases, and photo-ops with ex-footballers and B-list Nollywooders.
The race to 2023 is already on .
Enough of backroom staff model.

Let us begin to hear them speak on the big ideas that can take us out of the morass we are in .

They better wake up now, they should watch and see what BAT’S campaign CAMP are doing .They are no longer silent.

They don’t even need to spend so much now .Let them start doing and saying something now, not a few months to 2023.
Let us know how they are going to be on top of the situation when they are elected now.
President Biden (POTUS)has already declared his intention to run for a second term.

When a speculated Presidential candidate takes a platform and is recommending that more Naira be printed to help the failing economy, while N50 million out of the 85.5 youths be recruited into the army,we want to hear their own side of the story.

Let them come out and speak both from their head and heart.Let us hear their depth of knowledge now.

Let us see whether their ideas are as bright as their teeth and eyeballs.

Let us see the evidence of their physical fitness ,so that we may not end up again with a “Sidon look” President and a medical tourist.

Let us begin to appraise their manifestoes.Let us hear them talk.It is time for them to start apprising us about how well their manifestoes can get the nation out of the present quicksand we have stepped into.

Now to the THUMBPRINT NIGERIA ASSOCIATION ( TNA).

Our politicians are no longer seeing the poor in Nigeria as human beings but as a collection of thumbprints.

Even the so called enlightened are also used as a collection of thumbprints. We saw that play out in 2015.There is no need mentioning names.

But for some of us we need to continue to enlighten them as Political Activists.

We must let the people know that their continued thumbprint without deep thinking, elongates the poverty cycle which they are bequeathing to their generations. We must let them know that poverty is a loss of being and not just WELL-BEING.

The politicians are using their stomachs as baits to lure them into their nets.

I also think that the so called poor have made themselves that way.The rich in the actual sense are not in the police, are not in the civil service except those in the position to steal.

The rich are not in the customs unless those who are in the position to steal. The rich are not in the military except the Generals.

If the minority is rich and the majority is poor, common sense says that the majority can always have their way if they want to do.

I think the politicians may have branded the poor as fools and stupid thumbprinters who are always available during election cycles. It is the only time that they can mix with the poor. What a privilege for the poor.

I don’t blame them because it is always the supposed poor that will gather and recycle the minority rich when the time comes.

We saw that in the last election.Ballot boxes get to places where you can never imagine during elections, but developments hardly get there.Yet the poorest of the poor pour out in unprecedented numbers, smiling and voting.

We must stop recycling the refrain that whether we vote or we did not vote , they are still going to count votes, that is not helping and can never help.

If we keep thinking, that all the politicians allow us to do during elections or registration process, are merely to engage us and have their way ,we may remain the way we are for decades. We must count and be counted.

That we are only valuable during elections and discarded afterwards is very sad.

From South West to the North West,North Central,North East,South East to South South.

Almajiris in the North ,Agberos in the South, who get excited whenever they see bullion vans ,you are good for their votes
What a shame.

Do we even know that politicians see our thumbprints indeed as a sign of the elevation of the poor during elections.?
At least we have the opportunity to interact with them?

We are yet to realize that the way politicians see us is different. The poor are still the strength of the oppressor-politicians,as you listen to them in unguarded moments?

Unfortunately, many of the literate voters will only come online to rant, leaving the electioneering matters to the illiterates who weakly champion election matters from the position of weakness. Please after Twitter and Facebook come to the field.

CAN WE SEE THOSE WHO ARE WILLING STAND UP NOW!! NOT LATER.
THE MORE THE MERRIER.
Once again B.A.T has started.

JUST HAVE A GENERATION IN MIND BUT I DON’T KNOW WHICH ONE.

By Political Animal.

Never seen a generation so self-absorbed, so mannerless, so lazy and so selfish .

On the other hand they are also creating ripples globally in different sectors, especially in the entertainment, creative, fashion, sport, soft power industry.

A generation where some, though a few, are also questioning the rot in the country, boldly interrogating their condition and the oppression of elders who loot ,steal ,lie and rape them economically leading to spontaneous agitation by a few of them.

Some have been arrested, dehumanized for standing up to Government and oppression.

A generation where others are recruited to fight those who are agitating on their behalf for little or nothing.

Maybe because a particular previous generation before them didn’t leave so much for them to build on.

I am still thinking about that particular generation. Is it the oil boom generation?.Is it the “Udoji” award generation?
Is it the military regime generation.
Is it the civil war generation?

But I know that each generation in all ages always think that they are the standard.

But the same generation that I don’t seem to understand is the generation that do not want to be corrected when they are wrong, even when they are living under their parents.

Some want the good things of life but don’t want to work for it.But they want the best of phones or gadgets and very self-centered.

They carry handsets that are so costly, more expensive than the total amount of money that their aged parents used as business capital to train them in schools.

They want to be on tik-tok-all day.Instagram all day exchanging inappropriate pictures.
Many of them lacking critical thinking skills.
Even with Google in their hands still asking silly questions about virtually everything under the sun.

A generation where tradition, hardwork and respect is almost disappearing.A generation that bumps into elders without saying
“I am sorry” not to talk about sir or ma.

A generation with nose rings and anklets, while still wearing earpiece, but with no hard copy CV.With bushy bears all over their faces and happy with their condition and outlook.A generation where “shave everyday and you will always be clean”
is not a music they want to listen to.
Follow-follow generation.F-ball Idolaters .

A generation where parents became more liberal and lax in parental discipline to avoid confrontation.

This generation in question, there is also a generation of parents on the other hand where there are no standards set for children any more.

A generation of parents who don’t want their children to be corrected. Not even their teachers in school, they basically pamper them .

“Special Center parents”.A generation where parents are in support of teachers basically writing exams for their children.Where promotions are generous .Where teachers hardly get angry, but rather pamper the students to the extent that teachers are assumed to be at fault when they rebuke them for not writing notes or doing their homework or flog students.

Who raised this particular generation with “entitlement mentality” and who are “unwilling to learn” from elders attitude.?

The question is which elders? because there are different groups of elders in the generation that I am looking for.Among parents and politicians. It is all confusing.

Are situations getting worse and low on discipline as ages progress?

Please don’t be annoyed ,which generation raised this mannerless generation among manner full generation.

Is it possible to believe that whatever seeds planted in the past few decades are now what we are reaping today?

Is it a question of older people saying same thing about every upcoming generation since the beginning of time.?

Well, may we have a generation that will save Nigeria.

WHEN SHALL THIS BREAKING NEWS BREAK. #2023

By Political Animal.

BREAKING: At least ₦500 billion and another $20 billion meant for the Single Treasury Account (TSA), is MISSING.

The monies allegedly landed in private pockets. Now, the 9th Rubber Stamp National Assembly have launched an investigation to unravel the looting.

LOOTOCRATIC REGIME!!

The Auditor General of Nigeria raised an alarm that over N521 billion and another $21 billion meant for the Single Treasury Account ( TSA) is missing.

Well , what do we expect , and what can we say where a professor is jailed for electoral fraud, which is bad enough.

A Professor that expels students for examination malpractices but rigged election for a politician .The person he rigged election for is an honourable Minister. All breaking news.

Occasionally I intend to ignore some comments,or bother myself to speak about somethings ,that some people, you expected much from say online.People you expect to know better. Why waste time or words on people with such a variability of conviction on what is going on in the Nation. For them ,it all depends on who and where.

All double standard always .For some people in that particular region in this country,if not for “double standard” some of them in that region will not have “any standard” on any issue.

They value blind loyalty even if it takes so many lives.

They are two faced lions ,who roar at one end and swallow at the other end.A times I begin to think that they should be left to themselves, until they keep devouring themselves with terrorrists, and until there is nothing more to devour. Then Nigeria can have peace.

Double standard is their way of life . Hardly believe in the unity of the nation. When it favours them you are their best friend but when it does not favor them you are their worst enemy and they will go after you.

With all these breaking news almost on a daily basis, there are people in that particular region, who should never smell the seat of Government, who should stay clear from Aso Rock for the next 20 years,so that Nigeria can get her bearing.

On the other hand,it may not always be about North versus South issue,it is about character and credibility.

Character and credibility has nothing to do with being from the North or South,it is just a human trait.

It has business in the North and also in the South. It has business in the East as well as the West. Therefore focusing on a particular region because of such deeds or misdeeds cannot break the breaking news this time arround.

As many people are currently telling us that God is telling them to run ,run, run for the next President of Nigeria, for some of us our phones have not stopped ringing soliciting for support.May be because of our activities online.I hope they are hearing well from God.

Some are promising people that they shall be made ministers, special advisers, advisers and offering huge money for support, as I am hearing from people.

Even those in the Diaspora are not left out in these phone calls.

2023,My thought is different.

Please support only those who will break such BREAKING NEWS as seen above in the next political dispensation.

LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD:WHICH COUP HAS BEEN GIVEN A TRIBAL NAME AGAIN SINCE 1966?

By Political Animal.

The dilemma of the Nigerian situation should be conceptualized from the perspective of the reason why 1966 coup has remained erroneously called an ‘Igbo Coup’??.

Nobody is ready to consider the unit or course structure and ethnic enlistment in the Nigerian military at the time. You can only take such risks with course mates and those you can trust.

The question Nigerians have failed to ask is this, how many soldiers of other ethnic groups, aside Ibos were within the course group or unit that planned the coup.

Because Nigerians love living a lie,the reason we remain in a deep shit.

Just because majority of them who planned and executed the first coup were not from the core north, Yoruba and Middle Belt?,Yet with Colonel Banjo inclusive, it is still termed an igbo coup.

Between 1970-1999,how many coups has Nigeria witnessed??…which one was given a tribal name? That is the Nigerian hypocrisy that has kept the nation where we are .

A-times I begin to wonder what the “South of Nigeria” want to “gain” by a Southern Presidency ,if not to fulfill all righteousness.

Let just start from Ironsi, who tried and got assassinated.Obasanjo was lucky to smell the presidency by the help of the North twice but was caged to the extent that the road to his home town is the worst developed and an eyesore after two terms in office as the assumed executive President of Nigeria.

Abiola won the freest election and got annulment and death as a reward.

Shonekan was shoved asside in seconds ,
because he was trying to reap where he didn’t sow.

Even though he was on a political chess board that was beyond him to understand.

Good luck Jonathan was just annointed by the power that be in collaboration with an ex-President whose vision of Nigeria is anchored more on his native intelligence. His expressions and regrets today today even though he is not making it public, show that he is now more matured to understand Nigeria. He remains part of the problem and can never be part of the solution.

President Goodluck Jonathan inherited a weak and lopsided structure or platform that suited his weakness.

If we don’t understand the Nigerian history ,we are bound to keep repeating it.
Sorry for the youths.

Going back to the issue of coups.

General Gowon succeeded General Aguiyi Ironsi.General Muritala succeeded General Gowon.

Muritala died in a coup and was succeeded by General Obasanjo who hurriedly handed over power for fear of his life (caged).

You cannot blame him. When the powers that be hurriedly drafted a Lt.Colonel, and made him a General (Yaradua snr.)to be his deputy,he should have been watching his back.Obsanjo hurriedly handed over to President Shehu Shagari.Do I blame him .
Having escaped the coup that killed Murtala Mohammed.

President Shehu Shagari was removed by coup by General Buhari whom the coup plotters deffered to based on possible seniority not that he had anything to offer.
As reflected in our experience in his governments and style so far.

General Buhari was removed by General Ibrahim Babangida.

General Sanni Abacha cleverly shoved Shonekan aside and took over power and died in office.

The point I am making is that, since the first coup of January 1966,can anybody mention any other coup that Southerners spearheaded or played a very visible or major role , except as “backroom staff” possibly?

That tells you the condition of the South in the power equation in Nigeria. It didn’t start today.

Dimka who conspired against Lt Colonel Murtala Muhammed were both rematch coup plotters including from the North.

Major Theophilus Danjuma,Lt.Muhammadu Buhari,Lt Ibrahim Bako,Lt.Ibrahim Babangida,Lt Sani Abacha among others who were all members of the July 1966, rematch coup. All from the North.

They did whatever they could to keep themselves in power like a relay race, whereas the South had been so cowed that ,they were so afraid to even challenge the imbalance.Just contented by leftover powers from the Masters table through delegation as if the country does not belong to all of us , even with guns at their disposal.

Southern leaders have always been caged in the Nigerian system, because the South has never been united ,while the North can take a stand on any issue.

A-times people amuse me when they tell you that the two coups against IBB were-coordinated by Southerners,I wonder what they mean by coordination in coup plotting.

Maybe that is why the January 1966 coup was and is still tagged an Igbo coup till today.

It was assumed that the first coup of 1966 was to produce a Yoruba head of State,
but the key plotters are not alive to give us the true picture and not speculation.

But ,all I knew as a young boy was that in 1966,after the second coup in July 1966, Odumegwu Ojukwu based on his personal grouse with Gowon was insisting that Col.Ogundipe, who was a Yoruba man should take over power instead of Gowon, but unfortunately Ogundipe had fearfully escaped to England .

This news was all over the media at the time ,it was not fake news for us who were old enough to listen to news.

Nobody can doubt any young boy in his teens today talking about COVID-19 in the next twenty years or more. So, I am saying what I heard at the time.

Some people may tell you that Dimka’s coup was against a Northerner. The question is how many Southern coup plotters do we have in the history of this country as at today.

Obasanjo was not part of the coup plotters that brought him to power twice, whether military coup or civillian coup.It had nothing to do with any Southern coup.

As we witnessed, for those who were old enough, during Gideon Orkar coup, which was actually bankrolled by a fishing magnet, who severally contested gubernatorial elections in Delta State without success.

Somebody I know, whom employed my cousin as his chief accountant, who was releasing funds to the coup plotters , and taking records of the amount spent. This was the only time, there was a semblance of people from the South-South playing a visible role in coup plotting.

Murtala Mohammed coup,
the Buhari coup, Abacha coup,
IBB coup, the failed phantom coup by Diya, not a single coup was called a Hausa coup,Fulani coup,Tiv coup coup, let alone Yoruba coup, since there was no coup planned and executed by the Yorubas.

Why then are we still labelling the January 1966 coup an Igbo coup??.

The fact of history remains that Northerners who felt that they were victims during the January 1966 coup became victims to the same people, who planned the Northern rematch coup of July 1966 with terrible bad governance over the years, the whirlwind they are still reaping today .They presently enjoying the fruits of underdevelopment, because the personal wealth of those coup plotters combined make them richer today than the entire Nothern Region.

As much as we want an end to various hegemony in governance in Nigeria,we must not twist history.

I want to make it abundantly clear for all to understand that Southerners may have been part of coup plotters in Nigeria ,but have never spearheaded coup plotting since after January 1966.Except when Chief…. from Delta was the financier.

If Southerners were actually in charge,it could have reflected on “the who”announced the coups , and the leadership structure during such regimes,if not that they have always been used to make up the number in governance when they succeed to balance fake national equation.

This country remains the more you look the less you see.But let us stop twisting history.

NOT AS SEEMLESS AS CUTTING A CAKE.

By Political Animal.

The Secessionists threats and wild conducts may be condemnable, unconscionable,
hollow and may be called nothing but infantile misadventures. Some may think and rightly too.

Breaking a country is not as seamless as cutting a cake.It is not like knifing a birthday cake.

However, their grievances should be listened to and addressed; And they shouldn’t be persecuted, hunted and harrased for whatever reason.

Before the white man came, there were tribes in existence. Then regions in existence after.

If we refuse to revert back to true federalism and allow each nation (region not states) within the contraption called Nigeria to develop at their own pace , simply because it is benefitting a section of the country or some politicians across geopolitical zones, you may wake up one morning to find out that there is no nation again. We must stop postponing the evil day.

Nigeria is presently in tumoil and risky to think of breaking up.Things have to settle, then we can think of breakup,if we all agree. As it is now,it is going to be at great risk.

Just as it was in the sixties,no one ethnic group can embark on such a venture alone based on so many issues.

We have more intertribal marriages across ethnic lines than it was before the civil war.

We have investments across ethnic and regional boundaries ,more than what we had before the civil war.

Some people may not want to go into the issue of abandoned property again.

There shall be a lot of saboteurs and sabotage, based on personal and economic interests ,that may shock many and more blood shed.Presently, there is no red in the Nigerian flag, but if we fail to do the right thing, all beakaway states may have red in their flags as a token of remembrance for lives lost.

These things must be factored into whatever considerations we are making.

Sabotage was one of the things that ruined Biafra. This much I can say because I was a witness as a teenager.

Kosovo and South Sudan are two breakaway nations, and are presently in turmoil with each group for what they can grab.Sudan was in crises before the split . Experience is the best teacher.

When you fail to put your house in order before splitting there will be further crises.

Though we have successful breakup in Yugoslavia into Crotia, Macedonia,Serbia and Slovenia.Same with Ethiopia and Eriteria, but we must put our house in order before we begin. If we want to.

If at over 60 years of independence and there is still so much hatred and agitation everywhere ,the best option remains a loose federation before giving breakup a chance.

If we don’t get our Acts right before breakup,
how are you sure that the same thing will not happen between the Igbos and the South-South as oil producing States?

What about the Ijaws,Urhobos,
Itshekiris,Ishans,
Benins etc.

What happens within the South-west, amongst the Yorubas and their blocks including Kwara and Kogi.

What happens to those who are claiming to be in the middle belt.?What about the religious sentiments in both north and south?

The idea of turn by turn ,and zone by zone, and local government by local government, has been planted in the heart of Nigerians, no matter what part of the country they belong to.It can never be erased over night even if we break into villages. That is legacy we have from bad political leadership.

The problem is that we have been fooled by political elites, both in the South and North for a long time.It has been a matter of political interest.

If not , can you please tell me,what is the justification for an Ex-Governor in one of the richest states in the SouthWest, donating the sum of N50m to the Government of a state in the north recently, as his own contribution, for them to rebuild a very local “cow” market, when bigger markets of more economic value have been burning in the Southwest,in Lagos,Oyo,Ogun,Osun,Ekiti and Ondo ,without his visiting or giving a token, knowing his networth, just because of his presidential ambition.

It is all a matter of political ambitions and interest. If you look closely at this Government, you will find out that, those who were out of Government years ago who were ,shouting and screaming about resource control, are now very, very silent because ,they are now in Government.

They have seen what me and you have never seen and may never see.

My counsel is,let everything be done decently and in order before splitting if we have to.

Remember that splitting the nation is not like splitting a birthday day cake.

WE SHOULD CONSIDER CUTTING OFF THE HEAD OF ALL SNAKES.

By Political Animal.

Just consider cutting off the head of deadly snakes and end their evil enterprises. This is what we should do with our politicians.

One politician in discussion said that there is no greater enemy than the viper,no greater foe than the Cobra,no greater adversary than the black Mamba,No greater contender than the Boa Constrictor.

This is exactly what our politicians represent. The only way to deal with snakes is to decipher their deceptions , expose their lies and crush their heads. This is what Nigerians should do.

All Nigerian politicians fall into different categories or species of serpents.

Snakes are even beautiful, and honest creatures,if you leave them in their habitat alone they will do you no harm.

So we can’t even compare them with our duplicitous and dishonest politicians who are entirely evil. There is no beauty in their politics.

Before the 1959 general election when I was still a small boy,my late uncle, who was a member of the Action Group ( A.G.) used to take me along to watch Chief Obafemi Awolowo whenever he landed with his helicopter on one of the primary school fields for campaign. As a child I could still imagine the beauty of his campaigns and carriage even though I was more interested in seeing his helicopter. There nothing beautiful about present day politicians and campaigns except to abuse one another.

Either a Cobra is calling the viper as the worst Nigerian enemy or the Black Mamba telling us to watch the Boa Constrictor.

You can even avoid snakes ,but hardly can you avoid Nigerian politicians ,they seem to have infested the polity with venoms.

No greater hypocrites than Nigerian politicians. No greater deceivers than Nigerian politicians.

Their utterances are confusing, their campaigns are confusing, their manifestoes are confusing, their project implementations are confusing, the award of contracts are confusing and so on and so forth. Our morning is their night, and their morning is the night and darkness all over the nation.

How many of our politicians in various dispensations from the seventies can you say that is a role model as a public figure like in other climes.?

Please let us consider cutting of the head of all these deadly snakes and end their political enterprises.Let us cut off their heads without thinking twice.

NEED FOR FIRST-GRADE CANDIDATES FOR PRESIDENCY.

By Political Animal.

It will be sad if Nigerians should elect as President in 2023, someone who is completely fulfilled in one area, but in another area, is just a sad mess, that we don’t even know where to start after what we have been through.

We have abundant and accomplished people all over the nation and beyond our shores to choose from.

We should have a leader who understands the simple reason why the military is separate from the police.

We need a leader who knows that one fights the enemy of the state ,while the other serves and protects the people.

If we elect somebody who doesn’t understand the difference again ,who will allow the military to become both, then the military becomes the enemy of the state during elections again.

As we listen carefully ,we already can hear the drums of support for some people’s presidential bid,I hope we are not set for a repeat of 2015.?, because Nigeria atimes can be Nigeria.

If we allow some of the people who are circulating on social media to become president in 2023,it means that the lessons Nigerians did not learn after 8 years of this Government ,they will learn it by force.
That should be the saddest news of the century.

Nigerians funnily can be unpredictable.
The sudden barrage of PR for some candidates is becoming too sophisticated for my comfort.

It looks like it has some colour of US political consultants and their fingerprints all over it.

I am not sure Nigerians need another deceptive PR campaign to go down the wrong path again after what we have been through.

The options of candidates to “pick”from, as it is being circulated on social media, automatically makes the outcome a terrible one again.
I must warn!!.

We somehow have tried a mediocre PhD holder, who was timid and satisfied with himself, since he saw big size political “shoes” to wear which he never dreamt of wearing or thought of stepping into growing up.Even when he rose from deputy Governor,to Governor,to Vice President to Acting President to President he was still thinking about how he went barefooted growing up for years .

We have tried an assumed no-nonsense low IQ general ,who was a Petroleum Minister , former Head of State and Head of State again after desperately contesting election on three occasions, Nigerians thought he had something upstairs,we have seen the outcome.

My thought is that we need a no-nonsense high IQ civillian amongst our best.We can find them everywhere in Nigeria and the world. We must dismiss the issue of political platforms if we are serious.

Though Nigeria can be Nigeria without doubt ,but there are some aspirants whose presidential ambitions should be dead on arrival.

People are quick to tell me that election is a game of numbers ,and bragging about that.

If we keep reasoning along this line ,we are set to repeat the mistake of the past years, baring last minute dramas by the two major political parties.

A situation where the parties are watching each other’s back.If party “A” fields a candidate from the North or South for instance , party “P” will also do the same.
These are political considerations with no depth in thinking. This is political abracadabra that has never moved this nation forward.

The only way we can change this nonsense or narrative is for Nigerians to begin early to sensitize the people,to get the numbers of those who desire “real change” to register more ,and get interested in the election process, or we will be doing Twitter analysis again while these dubiously clever politicians are perfecting their trade again.

Their normal power-play.North versus South, Muslims versus Christains has started again .I can bet you that they are not sleeping again. They have gone back to their nocturnal habits as political animals to “GRAB POWER”

I foresee a major political crises by next year ,and this crises will open up many people’s un-informed eyes about politics in Nigeria.

My prayer is that the crises should not lead us to make the same mistake of 2015,
but rather lead us to having a first-grade President in 2023.

Help us God.

THE LANGUAGE OF CORRUPTION.WE ARE ALL POLITICAL ANIMALS

By Political Animal.

How does it begin?

Oil my Palm, and I oil your palm.

Wey person dey work na there i dey Chop,

You go See me oo,

Anything for your Boys or Girls.

This Government na my padi padi Government.

For this Government; everybody go chop breakfast.

Because you are part of them , even when you see your brother , sister or friend doing evil, just because it favours and hurt others,it doesn’t matter mentality develops immediately.

Atimes I begin to think that corruption is not even the problem but human beings called Nigerians.

Based on my knowledge of the holy writ,I know that human beings are generally corrupt by default when the right circumstances present itself.

We only need people who know what to do and very determined despite being corrupt.
Are all the leaders in developed world saints?.

We need a system that prevents corruption rather than a system that waits to punish when corruption takes place.

Scratch my back and I go scratch your own.

Anything for the pastors trunk ?
(even in religion)

You can count on and on!!

Truth may be bitter , only a few can stand firm and speak truth to power or stand firm irrespective of being stripped of the goodies of life by Government.

This has nothing to do with whether you are pastor or man of God ,or just a sincere believer. If people get scared of saying the right things simply because it will make them unpopular, then the society would be lost.

Every generation is saved by bold individuals among them who will not bow to the mob or crowd.

Bold individuals who won’t bow to online bullies , Twitter bullies, Facebook bullies or offline bribery to cover the the truth. Those who are not ready to join the bandwagon.

Those who are bold enough that they don’t allow keypad Twitter-political experts ,who want to enjoy some likes and retweets to distract them.

Everybody is a political Animal.
If you have ever played the role of an opposition party in the nuclear family, among siblings , you will surely be an expert in party politics. So we are all political animals.

For some of us who didn’t succeed in playing politics in the family,it may be difficult for us to succeed in Nigerian politics.

But presently my eyes are on our women as President for a change.

In Tanzania,Samia Suluhu Hassan may be sworn in as Tanzania President to lead the remainder of Magufuli’s term until 2025.Remember that we are still in 2021.

The President who died was just reelected in November last year.My mind just went to Nigeria.I wish that it had happened here.
She will become the first female president in Tanzania and East Africa.

Though the African Union is United in grief with the Government and people of Tanzania by the untimely death of H.E.President John Pombe Magufuli, but for me, we have a ready woman President thrown up by Providence.

Even though he was a champion of regional cooperation and a committed Pan Africanist leader. But we have a woman President by Providence.

Even though there is a media obsession over the former President’s science-skepticism and authoritarian bent, but for hundreds of millions of Africans he is an icon of anti-corruption,not wasting state funds and modest lifestyle. His financial integrity spoke to the hearts of many. But we have a woman President by Providence.

Though he had some extremities like repressing independent reporting of journalists, denying the existence of #COVID, thereby endangering the lives of his people, revoked the license of NGOS and partners including banning pregnant girls from returning to schools. But that is Africa for you.But we have a woman President by Providence.

He never subscribed to the virus business and was seen as hindrance to vaccine manufacturers because Tanzania refused to buy the vaccine. But we have a woman president by Providence.

I am going through all this to say that,
I wish what happened in Tanzania happened in Nigeria for us to have a fully baked woman President, without election, without struggle, at least for us to breathe some fresh air for the next four years from 2021.

2023 seems too far because we are almost suffocating.

Look at the list of women Presidents whether Executive or Ceremonial. When shall we have a woman president in Nigeria, whether Executive or Ceremonial?

Slyvie Kiningi Prime Minister of Burundi from 1994-1994.

Ellen Johnson Sirlaf from Liberia, first elected female president who served from 2005 and 2011.

Joyce Hilda Banda President of Malawi from 2021-2014.

DID ABACHA PITY NIGERIA?

By Political Animal.

Methinks that when this Government is over after the looting going on,Nigerians will realize that Sanni Abacha had mercy on Nigeria. Not only mercy but pitied us.

As I was listening to the Minister of State for Petroleum after the Executive council meeting on Wednesday the 18/3/2021 on the Port Harcourt Refinery ,I could only shake my head in disbelief.

The Port Harcourt Refinery that is not worth $1.5 billion is what this Government is budgeting $1.5 billion to rehabilitate at almost the twilight of their tenure.Another sure way of raising money for re-election campaigns.

The same way they budgeted $500million to renovate the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) which is worth atmost $50 million .
NTA that people hardly watch because of the poor broadcast and news quality.

By the time the Government is through with us ,we shall all be clapping for the maximum military ruler Sani Abacha for coming a distant second in thievery.

This was the same Government that approved $300m for the repair of the Refinery in July 2017.Where are they diverting all these money for,if not in preparation for 2023 general election?

The refineries have become nothing but cash cows for different regimes and not this Government alone. What a shame.

As I was listening to him,he said that the project is for 30 months , which means by 2022, when their focus will be on the re-election campaigns ,they may have enough funds. What have they been waiting for ,since they came into power?.He was just rambling and I could not patiently wait to hear him out.

I partially hear him say the project is for 44 months which one are we to take.It was not too clear to me.May be those who listened to him all through may understand better .

My thinking is that they had no intention to rehabilitate the refineries but due to financial pressures from party members they had no choice. We know how these things work.Projects are always the avenue for the party in Government to raise money through contractors .These contractors inflate the budgets and pass the difference to the party.

The question is, what does it cost to set up modular refineries instead of rehabilitating an obsolete refinery? Are we cursed?

How many modular refineries can $1.5billion build and the employment opportunities? Somebody should please tell me.

How many professionals from the Nigeria Society of Engineers e.t.c ,designed, approved the Bill of Quantities for the project scheme?

What role did BPE play in this public project and private deals. What about the Bereau for public procurement.

Were they approved?
This is another white elephant project with tax payers money.

Could we not have auctioned these moribund refineries to competent entities ,who could have put them into proper use and create employment for our youths?.

I thought we were waiting for the technical audit or financial auditing going on for the past 9 months? Same thing with that of Ajaokuta steel company where we were expecting or waiting for the Russia tech auditors.?

It is sad that this will continue till 2023.
We all know that when they leave power in 2023,any incoming Government will not want to continue the process based on their lootery style and leadership and what is in the head of whoever will be in power.

Moreover,Dangote may not tolerate competition and will be happy to see the project abandoned.Remember that he has the financial muscle to make that possible.

It is sad that all the administrations have been using the same method of theivery.
Who is even teaching who , because ,
those I saw in the past administration, are also policy makers in this administration.

That is why assumed “corruption fighters” have become corrupt themselves. We should bring the season of budgeting for infrastructures and nothing is done to a close. As long as we “have thieves” as those that are supposed to “apprehend thieves” , nothing can be achieved. That is why the “opposition” is dead. You can’t do what you are accused of.

One of our leaders while on NTA said that we should be patient with Nigeria ,that after all, it took the USA 100+ to get to where they are now.

He was asking us how old is Nigeria to expect progress. In order words,”You have not seen anything yet”.

Unless there is an actionable plan by Nigerians to change the current story, they may sell us and our children.God forbid.

My happiness is that one day they will take their last meal.

ARE YOU EQUALLY OUTRAGED?

By Political Animal.

The House of Representatives Dep. Speaker, Hon Ahmed Wase said that Nigerians living abroad have no right to submit petitions to parliament.

These are people whose remittances from those countrymen and women is at $20 billion a year keeping alive families impoverished by our politicians!

We actually need patriotic citizens in 2023.Those that have the heart of statesmen. Those who would redress our grieviances because I am outraged .
Those who will administer true justice and also provide public safety.

Actually we are in a bad posture ,we need men with graceful stateliness to understand the depths we are into.

We must be very careful whom we elect into high office in 2023 , whether at the state level or federal level.

Why should Nigerians in the diaspora not have the ability to vote abroad as the case is in neighboring Ghana and many other countries? We are presently wooing their remittances but we don’t need their votes?

Every country has those in diaspora. Many are forced by economic circumstances which led to economic migration.Who actually wants to live in foreign lands forever if home is good?

Their Nigerian citizenship should not be denigrated because of where they are living when the Government has not provided opportunities for them to be home.

Why should those living in the diaspora not contribute to whatever is happening in the country when and where their families are residing.

This statement from Mr.Wase is nonsense and offensive.I am outraged.A show of shame .It is terribly comical when people think that they can still twist facts in the time the world has become a global village, where information is available at finger tips.

How can he insist that those in diaspora don’t know what is happening in Nigeria?

Nigerian politicians always want something for nothing. They want their remittances but not their contributions by voting.

They are aware that they cannot give Nigerians in the diaspora 2k per vote during elections. They are just scared of people that know how things work in countries with good leaders .

They don’t want citizens who understand the systems that work in contrast to what we have here.We just have to stop this nonsense in 2023.I am outraged.

We really need to urgently amend the constitutional provision that forbids Diaspora Registration and voting.

Nigerians who are out there , very educated and qualified should not be shut out of political and public opportunities in every sector. You cannot want their money, but you don’t want them to have a say in the way they are governed or the families they left at home.

Dear Diasporans,my advice is that if you want to make the required impact on the present political and economic situation in Nigeria, please “stay close and watch closely”.

Well ,it is said that democracy is the system of Government,by the people,of the people and for the people,If we have had almost 60 years of extremely woeful leadership, including military regimes, and not moved,
then there is something wrong with us, because these politicians come from among us,even though they impose themselves on us during elections. But enough should be enough.I am outraged!!
